Highlights from IDS 2022 Toronto

We had a lot of amazing designs and innovative ideas in the Interior Planning Show this season.

Modern lighting choices are growing and growing. We lately blogged about modern lighting and realize that 2019 will probably be the entire year this explodes to the scene like a necessary accessory for any space.

Another thing that caught our eye were some innovative ideas about meeting rooms at offices. It appears that designers are searching for methods to promote more creativeness and communication between colleagues through unique designs and room layouts.

Lounge chair trends are altering with increased square and sharp edge designs. This is not something we have seen before, as patio chairs aren’t typically created using these “hard” designs. Modern furniture trends as well as an industrial feel are now being introduced in to the outdoors using these designs.

We loved seeing a lot of colourful sofa and table designs. At sohoConcept, we have been keen on vibrant colours for furniture and provide a number of our pieces in orange, crimson, red, and blue fabrics. We had lots of very colourful sofa and table designs this season and therefore are excited to determine where it goes!

Lastly, we are passionate at sohoConcept about modern furniture for small spaces, which year compact dining and accent chairs particularly for smaller sized spaces were a success. The popularity of “tiny living” caught on like wildfire in 2018 so designers are actually using creative ways to help individuals using these lifestyles furnish their houses and companies.

We are so excited to determine what 2019 brings! The Inside Design Show was a terrific way to start 2012 so we can’t wait to determine what else these gifted designers (including our owns!) show up
