A fisherman’s cottage kitchen in Cornwall is given a bold look that bridges old and new – perfectly

This cottage kitchen in pretty St Ives in Cornwall in England’s far the west is filled with personality and charm in the scrumptiously mouth-watering colors and casual air of sophistication.

‘We wanted a large kitchen in a tiny cottage, we would have liked eating, seating and prepping, we would have liked some vintage so we wanted simplicity and glamor,’ repeat the proprietors. ‘So we found a really functional, lovely vintage prep table which was well-crafted coupled with a chippy eco-friendly paint finish, we added some brass castors, which was the way it all started.’

An abundance of inspiring cottage kitchen ideas should be had out of this kitchen, that was produced using deVOL’s Classic British showroom pieces.

Initially a quite imposing and grand assortment of free standing cupboards, it absolutely was within the showroom for eight years prior to being relocated towards the seaside.

‘The fascinating factor is when the cabinets work perfectly both in places, exactly the same, but different,’ repeat the proprietors.

Colored kitchen cabinet ideas within this space show the way a new coat can modify a current space – and how flexible free standing kitchens could be.

‘Repainting these classic cupboards to sit down plus the prep table has completely altered their character. We stored the countertops, cherry hardwood with eight many years of patina along with a perfectly figured slab of marble, but we swapped the handles.

‘deVOL free standing cupboards are crafted by hands in a way that it’s unlikely you’ll ever have to replace them, which means this transformation is like getting a brand new kitchen.’

Though eco-friendly kitchen ideas really are a safer choice over yellow, the bespoke eco-friendly was selected just for detailing that matched the prep table – and also the bold new Scullery Yellow deVOL paint color.

‘Every time we have seen this yellow, we like it a little more, we believe it’s the truth that it isn’t vibrant but very mellow and welcoming.’

Just a little kitchen for holidays is sufficient, but we did desire a big table, a large Smeg fridge along with a big Lacanche range oven because for all of us, holiday season is about being together, chilling out, socializing and eating wonderful local produce and fresh sea food.’

Because the room is not only a kitchen area, we made the decision on sisal carpets, they give a warmth along with a naturalness that’s quite lovely and advised us from the beach. The sporadic finish from the room has leather club chairs so carpeting felt more pleasing.’
